About Me
My name is Brian Edson an I am from Somerville,MA. I am a painter first and a geek second or the other way around depending on the day of the week. I work in the computer field staring at computers all day so painting is a great escape for me.
My Art work is an extension of my imagination, dreams, everyday life. I create characters and then give them a backstories and worlds to live in. I love animals and a lot of my shapes and textures come from creatures. Inspiration for my work comes from comic books, cartoons, talking with friends, to stains you stare at on a celling before you go to sleep at night. I love the weird in life.
I work in mostly in Acrylics these days to get those nice vibrant colors. However I do work in oil watercolor, and pen & ink. I have recently started to work with wood. I prefer MDF for the smooth surface and it’s easy to cut with a scroll saw.
